A CNC shop-floor expert you can ask at any time

The process assistant answers programming, maintenance and quality questions with shop-floor judgement: why a part chatters, how to read an alarm, which instrument to use for a tolerance or how to plan an operation. It knows GetGCode's tools and can lean on them (cutting parameters, alarms, G/M codes, tolerances) to answer with data.

Programming

Canned cycles, compensations, roughing and finishing strategies, differences between controls and review of G-code blocks that don't do what you expect.

Maintenance

Indicative diagnosis of alarms and symptoms (servos, spindle, references, lubrication), what to check safely and when to call the service technician.

Quality

Interpreting GD&T and ISO tolerances, choosing the instrument and inspection frequency, and how to tackle a dimension that comes out of tolerance.

Frequently asked questions about the CNC process assistant

What kind of questions can the assistant answer?

Any shop-floor question: CNC programming (cycles, compensations, dialects), maintenance (alarms, symptoms, safe checks), quality (tolerances, GD&T, metrology) and how to use GetGCode's own tools. It answers in the language you write in.

Does it replace the machine manual or the service technician?

No. It is guidance with an industrial-safety mindset: it helps you understand the problem and decide what to check, but before intervening, resetting or moving axes you must confirm the procedure in the official manual and with your maintenance lead.

How is it different from asking a generic AI chat?

It specialises in machining, knows GetGCode's tools and can query their data (cutting parameters by material, alarm library, G/M codes, ISO tolerances) to answer with figures rather than generalities. Each mode — programming, maintenance, quality — has its own judgement.

Can I give it my CNC program or my drawing?

Yes: you can paste G-code blocks for it to explain or review, and from the simulator and the generator the assistant already receives the context of what you're looking at, without having to describe it.

Is it free? How do I get access?

The assistant runs on AI models with real cost and is reserved for the Pro tier (invite-only beta). Create a free account and request access from the app.

Does it keep my conversations?

Conversations are kept in your account so you can pick them up again and are not used to train models. The processing details are in the privacy policy.
