Torno doble cabezal: transferencia, tronzado y Z1/Z2

Practical calculators for the subspindle: from the pickup to the final dimension after parting off, through bar, origins and cutting parameters. Designed for programmers and operators of two-spindle CNC lathes.

Cotaje de transferencia

Defines finished length, insert width, grip overshoot and clearance. Get bar progress and main/sub checklist.

Tronzado y longitud

Compensate W and facing stock so you don't come up short on the subspindle. Set parting-off Vc/f separately from turning.

Programming

Converts Z1↔Z2 dimensions, shows dual rpm and copies a cycle skeleton. Always validate on your control.

Frequently asked questions

What is this double head lathe tool for?

It brings together shop calculations for subspindle / dual path: main→sub transfer, parting-off compensation to dimension, parts per bar, Z1/Z2 conversion, Vc/rpm on both spindles, parting and indicative cycle templates.

Are G-code templates ready to machine?

No. They are commented skeletons (Fanuc 2-path, Siemens or generic checklist). The M/G of sync, clamp and WAIT change per machine. Adapt them to your manual, simulate and validate dry.

How is the parting width compensated for the length?

If you want finished length L on the sub and you part off with width W (plus facing stock), the bar must stick out roughly L + faceStock + W before the cut. After parting off, finish the face on the sub if you left stock.

Do Z1 and Z2 always mirror each other?

It depends on how the transfer is defined on your lathe. Mirror mode (Z2 = offset − Z1) is common; you can also use the offset in the same direction. Check the sign against a known dimension.

In transfer should I match Vc or rpm?

For spindle sync at pickup you almost always match rpm (or whatever the control requires), not Vc. Dual Vc mode shows you the rpm mismatch if you cut different Ø at the same Vc.

Does the calculation of pieces per bar include the clamp remnant?

Yes: you subtract a minimum remainder and divide the useful length by (L + parting width + face losses). It is indicative: stop, bushing and actual excess may vary.
