Workshop behavior

Magnetic: No (El Nickel 200 sí es magnético (níquel prácticamente puro) y el Monel 400 es ligeramente magnético.)

Refrigerante recomendado: Refrigeración abundante a alta presión; taladrina de alta concentración o aceite entero.

Control de viruta: Viruta continua y muy tenaz, se suelda al filo con facilidad (adherencia).

Rugosidad Ra alcanzable: 1.6-6.3 (el endurecimiento por deformación limita el acabado fino) µm

Resistencia a fatiga: Excelente a alta temperatura; por eso se usa en turbinas.

Impact resistance: Buena, se mantiene incluso a alta temperatura.

Machining notes and operator tips

One of the most demanding materials to machine; Very low Vc and maximum rigidity of the installation.

Vc · Torno (metal duro, corte medio): 17-42 m/min

Vc · Fresado (metal duro, corte medio): 21-29 m/min

  • Cambia de filo de forma preventiva (por tiempo, no solo por desgaste visible); el fallo catastrófico es rápido.
  • Usa plaquitas cerámicas o CBN en producción; el metal duro se desgasta muy rápido en este material.
  • Evita cualquier vibración: el endurecimiento por deformación empeora mucho con un corte inestable.
