How to identify a Mitsubishi CNC alarm

On a machine with a Mitsubishi control, a message may originate in the CNC, an axis drive, the spindle or the logic added by the machine builder. A number alone does not always identify the same fault: retain the prefix, subcode and complete screen message. This index separates those families and links each code to its symptoms, causes and checks.

Control, axis and drive

Before selecting a reference page, record the control series and the indicated axis or spindle. If the CNC screen and the drive show different numbers, keep both. Do not substitute a servo code for a program code just because the number matches.

Machine builder alarms

PLC messages, tool changes and interlocks depend on the machine and its installed options. For these messages, the machine builder's manual takes precedence over a general control alarm list. Record the operation in progress and any recent change to tools, parameters or components.

What to prepare for maintenance

Provide a photograph of the full message, the control series, the machine model and when the alarm occurs. The pages below help organise that information. If the cause requires work on a drive or inside the electrical cabinet, leave the check to authorised personnel following the machine procedure.

Official documentation

Choose the manual matching your control series, software version and machine builder. A support portal is a starting point; it does not establish applicability to every model.

Alarms by control brand

Every control numbers and describes its alarms in its own way. Go into the brand of your machine to see the full list with the meaning of each code.
