Siemens SINUMERIK alarms and SINAMICS faults

Messages on a Siemens-equipped machine do not all belong to the same system. SINUMERIK interprets programs and controls channels; SINAMICS has its own drive faults, and the builder adds machine messages. Record the number, channel or axis and complete message before looking it up.

Program error or drive fault

A message identifying a program block calls for reviewing that block and its variables. A drive fault calls for retaining its F or A code and affected component. Changing servo parameters to address a program arithmetic error does not resolve its cause.

Alarm 14050

In the SINUMERIK 828D Diagnostics Manual, 14050 means that an arithmetic expression exceeds the supported nesting depth. The stated remedy is to split complex expressions. It does not by itself describe an open door or PLC feed interlock.

Finding the matching manual

Record whether you use 808D, 828D, 840D or another series, plus the installed version. Cycles, builder messages and restart conditions can vary. Siemens Industry Online Support lets you locate the diagnostics manual by product and edition.

Official documentation

Choose the manual matching your control series, software version and machine builder. A support portal is a starting point; it does not establish applicability to every model.

Alarms by control brand

Every control numbers and describes its alarms in its own way. Go into the brand of your machine to see the full list with the meaning of each code.
